Raytown Vineyard Church Concludes 1st Year of Supporting Community Partners

January 7, 2010

From the very beginning, God has asked us to be a tithing church–where we give away the first 10% of our church’s income before we pay our bills.

As a new Raytown church completing our 1st year, we are committed to joining in with other ministries who are already doing effective ministry in our community.  This is a good opportunity for us to learn to be generous with no strings attached.

Thanks to God’s faithfulness through our generous congregation, we were able to give away over $7000 to community partners in the first year that we have been a church.

We have donated in Jesus’ name to these great organizations who are addressing critical physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs in the greater Raytown area :

The Raytown Vineyard Church is teaming up with Prison Fellowship Ministries and dozens of community volunteers to hold an Awareness/Fundraiser Event for Angel Tree on Saturday, October 17th from 6-9 PM at Benetti’s Coffee Experience, located at 6109 Blue Ridge Blvd in downtown Raytown.

Angel Tree provides Christmas presents to children who have one or both parents incarcerated.  Click here to learn about the 1.5 Million reasons to partcipate in Angel Tree.  As prisoners and their families are a foundational commitment for the Raytown Vineyard, this event is very near and dear to our hearts.  Our goal is to attract 200 participants and raise $2000 for this charity.

We will have face painting and crafts for the kids, fire pits for s’mores, Raku firing by Mary Bliss, and two live bands who will play at no charge: Brendan Hollis  and My Science Fiction Twin

Prison Fellowship representatives will also have a booth set up to provide information about Angel Tree and will speak and show videos in between band sets.

Remember, IT’S FOR THE KIDS!

Why Angel Tree? For 1.5 Million Reasons.

October 4, 2009

Every child has a story. For 1.5 million American children, that story is filled with the abandonment, loneliness, and shame that comes from having a mom or dad in prison. At Angel Tree, we find ways to reach out to these children, by sharing Christ’s love with them at Christmas and by developing year-round relationships. In the end, it’s so much more than giving Christmas gifts-it’s about restoring families.

At the Raytown Vineyard Church, we have been so impacted by serving through Angel Tree over the last 2 years.  On October 17, we have the opportunity to share the joy of Angel Tree with all of our friends, family, and the greater Raytown and Kansas City community.

Come join us for the Angel Tree Benefit from 6 to 9 PM on Saturday, October 17.  For more information, click here.
