WHAT WE DO

 

Objectives

 

  1. Have conversations with God every day about the Word.
  2. See God’s character.
  3. See God’s perspective of me.
  4. Hear direction for my life from discussion around the Word.
  5. Learn in community with other men & boys of all ages, focusing on other fathers and sons.

 

Commit to 7 weeks, then reconfigure groups to share with men and boys of all ages.

 

During the Week–at least 20-30 minutes per day–at least 5 out of 7 days (per age appropriate)

 

  1. Write the verse in your journal.
  2. Meditate on the Verse.
  3. Document your texts with God on each of the 3 questions.
  4. Write down your summary prayer
  5. Pray for the rest of your group by name.

 

When we Gather–60 minutes

 

  1. Pray over the verse as a group.
  2. Share findings–every participant should have the opportunity to share
  3. Share burdens (in age appropriate groups)
  4. Pray (in age appropriate groups)

 

How to meditate on the Verse through the week

 

  1. Pray, dedicating your time to God.
  2. Write down the verse in your journal.
  3. Text God with questions about who He is
    1. Ask God to show you a question to ask Him about what the verse reveals about who God is.
    2. Write down the question you hear.
    3. Write down God’s’ response to the question.
    4. Ask God to show you another question to write down.
    5. Write down that answer.
    6. Keep going until you don’t hear any more questions about who God is.
  4. Text God with questions about how He sees you
    1. Ask God to show you a question to ask Him about what the verse reveals how God sees me.
    2. Write down the question you hear.
    3. Write down God’s’ response to the question.
    4. Ask God to show you another question to write down.
    5. Write down that answer.
    6. Keep going until you don’t hear any more questions about who God is.
  5. Text God with questions about specific “to do” actions.
    1. Ask God to show you a question to ask Him about what “to do” in response to this verse.
    2. Write down the question you hear.
    3. Write down God’s response to the question. (The objective is not “I need to be more kind to my sister this week”, but “I need to be kind to my sister by greeting her with a smile every time I see her this week”.)
    4. Ask God to show you another question to write down.
    5. Write down that answer.
    6. Keep going until you don’t hear any more questions about what “to do” in response to this verse.
